Vaccine

It is required to have a physical, un-expired Yellow Fever vaccine card to enter Congo.

To obtain the yellow fever vaccine, you would need to go to a nearby travel clinic, as most hospitals do not administer them.

If you believe you’ve taken the yellow fever vaccine but are no longer in possession of the vaccine card, you can reach out to your primary healthcare provider, or whoever you believe you received the vaccine from. They may be able to issue you a new card or sign a paper confirming your vaccination. The paper may need to be translated to French if a new card is not issued!

If you were born in DR Congo - Good news, you qualify for a visa on arrival! Just ensure Congo is named as your Place of Birth. At your departing airport they may ask you for your visa, but show via your passport that you were born there and qualify for visa on arrival. The cost for visa on arrival is $90 USD paid in cash at FIH airport.

All other travelers - You will need to apply for a visa at your nearest DR Congo embassy or consulate. There are TWO Congo’s, so make sure you are applying to the right one! In the United States, the embassy is located in Washington, DC. You will need to either mail your application and required forms with your passport, or drop them off in person. Ensure that you give yourself enough time to apply and make sure to confirm the dates written on your passport are around the time of the wedding! This is important that they don’t start your visa too early and it expires before you enter Kinshasa or exit.
